An incredible bundt cake made with buttermilk and drizzled with an intense orange icing that is perfect in the afternoon with tea. This cake is very similar to Pound cake which was made of a pound of each of the following; flour, butter, sugar and eggs; hence the name. The cake weighed four pounds as a result and would feed multiple families.  Although it is thought that pound cake was created by the British in the 1700's, it was around the 1800's that the recipe was adapted to create a lighter and smaller version and became popular in the USA. By the 1900's raising agents were added to reduce the density. Our version is light, tangy and exceptionally moreish.
