Everything we bake has a story and this cake is no exception. In 1999, we stopped  at a country-style restaurant and store called Cracker Barrel for dinner and saw ‘Coco-Cola’ cake on the menu. Intrigued foodies as we are, we ordered a slice (or two) and were smitten. We bought the ‘Coca-Cola’ cookbook which was available from their adorable country store.  If you visit the US, I highly recommend stopping in and trying their southern-home-cooked meals and meandering around their gorgeous shop selling candles, old-fashioned gifts, toys, candies and so much more! 

This recipe became our ‘go-to’ chocolate cake especially for birthdays and we enjoyed asking our friends to guess the surprise ingredient. No one ever said Coca-cola! 

Over the years, this cake has emerged into a bundt making it more sophisticated. You will not be disappointed with this thick, dense, moist, fudgy and velvety cake.
